From the eyes of most professional runners, Nike dominates the racing shoe industry. From spikes on he track such as Mambas, Victory's and Dragonfly's, to the road racing greats like the AlphaFly, Vaporfly, and Streakfly, Nike has the strongest racing shoes out there ad they are a force to be reckoned with While other companies make some very very strong shoes, all of the fastest times and most impressive wins are all set in Nike shoes. From the 800 meter and up the dragonfly's dominate and for any road race longer than a 2 mile the vaporfly's or alphafly's will give you that extra spring in your step.
The Vaporfly and Alphafly are in charge of the road racing world. The marathon world record set by Eliud Kipchoge was set in AlphaFly's, as well as the unofficial world record also by Eliud Kipchoge in Alphafly's. These pros train in Vaporfly's because they are a bit lighter and great for faster workouts and make these shoes an amazing choice. Additionally, nost high school cross country runners wear Vaporfly's because a lot of states do not allow spikes to be work in cross country so athletes wear vaporfly's because of the extra spring in their step they give you. Vaporfly's are great shoe for 5k and up and the alphafly's are probably the best marathon shoe in the world.
The Nike Invincible is the staple of a recovery shoe. When you are super sore from a workout the day before, or you just feel like you need a recovery day then this shoe is the go to. They are super cushiony and they make you feel great. while you cannot run as fast in them, you will feel great during and after you finish. On top of superior recovery, these shoes are not very expensive and are a great option for your shoe rotation. Even if you can only afford one pair of shoes, these shoes are a great way to go.
The Nike Pegasus is the all around shoe, it can do anything. From easy recovery runs to speed workouts, strides, and even racing, the Pegasus are truly an amazing shoe that are good at whatever you need them to be good at. They are cushiony so you can recover well in them when yiu need to but they are also light and fast so when you need to do strides or a fast workout in them, you can. They are also affordeable so anyone can get the, and trust me you will be happy with the Pegasus!
Cross country vs Track has been a debate for quite some time now. TO be honest if you are a short distance person in track then I see no reason why you would ppick cross country but if you do long distance this can be a true dabte for you. At the end of the day it comes down to if you are mentally strong or if you are fast. Track requires more speed and cross country requires more mental strength because of the amount of pain you must endure.
Cross Country vs Track and Field
If you have more speed then you do stamina, you will most likely like track more. All the events are much shorter and they require molre speed. However if you feel like you are a very strong person, mentally and physically (because cross country requires both) you might be a bigger fan of cross country. Both are fun to copmpete in and watch but in my opinion the vibe and atmosphere of cross country is better than track which makes it a more enjoyeable sport for me to participate in.
The debate between Nike and Adidas has lasted for a long time and everyone has a side picked. Me personally, I like Nike more. Yea Adidas has some good trail shoes and some good racing spikes, but I find Nike to be much more durable and also much more all arond great, while they still target their shoes to be great in the certain areas they are designed for. I think Nike makes higher quality shoes than Adidas because of the evidence Nike has shown behind their shoe making process. Also from personaly experience Nike shoes last for much longer and feel a lot bettr on my feet than Adidas do.
The Nike shoes I have owned feel great on my feet. It might be the way that Adidas fits my feet but Nike fit my feet a lot better and in turn feel a lot more comforteable for me. I enjoy going on super long runs in my Nike Pegasus or Invincible shoes because they are cushiony and comfy for me to wear where as Adidas is not very comforeteable. I wear them as spikes because they have some decent spikes buit they hurt and I do not really like teh fit around my foot.
Nike's shoes feel a lot more durable for me than Adidas dop. What I mean by this is that they last for longer than Adidas shoes do. Running shoes only work for so long before they start to feel "shot" and they just feel slow and run down. These make you feel sore and you can also get injured easily when your shoes are run out. And Nike shoes last a lot longer for me than Adidas shoes do. I believe on a pair of Nike trainers I can run 600 miles easily and they won't feel shot, but with Adidas they will start to feel shot after around 300-400 miles.
Finally I feel like the last reason Nike is superior to Adidas is because of the cost. Nike has some very expensive shoes, but you do not have to buy those. They have very affordeable ones that anyone can afford to buy which Adidas does not have. I think this is an important factor when it comes to buying shoes because not everyone has a lot of money to go spend on a pair of runnung shoes, especially when they are a beginner and do not need multiple pairs of shoes to train/race in.
